Finding Inspiration in Anthony Burrill's "Make it Now”
Who is Anthony Burrill?
If you don’t know, this is the perfect time to get acquainted. Burrill is a graphic designer and typographer, known for his striking posters dominated by bold lettering and impactful phrases.
Discovering 'Make it Now'
Last year, while I was in Berlin, I stumbled upon his book "Make it Now," and it felt like a breath of fresh air.
The book is a quick read but an everlasting source of inspiration. Its pages are filled with typographic characters and quotes that make you want to jump into action.
Why This Book Matters Now
You might wonder why I'm talking about this book now. Currently, I'm going through a dull phase. I feel uninspired, weighed down by events, almost on the verge of giving up.
This book serves as a subliminal message reminding me to keep going, and more importantly, to start now. It captures my attention every morning, reminding me of the fresh inspiration I felt when I first read it. It's like my morning coffee, waking me up and getting me ready to work.
A Personal Recommendation
I'm sharing this because you might want it too. You'll read about Anthony's mistakes, how he reached where he is, and you'll laugh at his jokes. But most importantly, you'll think, "Yes Anthony, I'll get to work right now, just as you say." :)
Love,
Chiara
