La Brac Firenze

Reinventing a Vegetarian Restaurant and Bookshop with Creative Flair

A representative image of La Brac Firenze

La Brac, nestled in the heart of Florence, is not just a vegetarian-vegan restaurant and contemporary art bookshop; it's a symphony of taste and art.

Post-Covid-19 lockdown, Brac embarked on a journey to transform its services into a high-quality takeaway experience, honoring its commitment to the slow food philosophy with dishes crafted from fresh, organic ingredients. The challenge was not just to promote this new service but to breathe new life into their brand identity.

During this period, since they needed to adopt paper boxes for the take-away service, they decided to eliminate every plastic or paper bag to compensate. They started to produce cotton tote-bags for their clients in order to promote reusable bags.

Tote Bags as Manifestos

The creation of three limited edition tote bags was then the best closing project.

The first (2020), a literal manifesto of Brac’s philosophy

The second (2021), representing Brac’s expansion in a new space with a message of good food, good books, good mood:

The third (2022), capturing the cozy ambiance of Brac, akin to being at home.

Each tote was a celebration of Brac’s heart and soul woven into fabric.

Social Media Revitalization

To capture the essence of Brac’s transformation, I gave their social media presence a complete makeover. The feed was illustrated with seamless, side-to-side illustrations, creating a visual narrative new chapter, as it was in real life.

Each post was a window into Brac's soul, inviting followers into a world where food IS art.

Screen Printing with a Funky Twist

Between the fun projects we did together, there’s this limited edition screen print, inspired by 1950s Indian matches box aesthetics but injected with funk, featured Sacha, the owner, crafting his beloved dosa crepe, his master dish.

This piece was more than just an artwork; it was a homage to cultural fusion and culinary passion.

Sustainable Packaging Design

The takeaway experience was elevated with bespoke packaging solutions - boxes and stickers were mainly produced with paper, a better choice compared to the usual plastic.

Simple but unmistakably 'Brac', each package delivered more than just food; it was a warm hug during the covid hard days.

A Menu That Whispers Stories

Simple but just what was need, the new menu was ready to welcome the clients for their early aperitivos.

Wine Promotion with a Twist

Brac’s approach to wine promotion was reinvented with a card that did more than just list choices; it celebrated them. It was a testament to the fine balance between culinary delight and artistic expression.

The fun twist? A personal self-portrait of Giulia, the wine expert that curated this column about wine was always on the first page, to introduce her before the wine.
